You’ve booked your Botox and you’re excited for smoother, more refreshed skin — so now what? What you do in the hours and days afterward genuinely affects how well your results settle and how long they last. Here are the simple, provider-approved rules our Brighton Beach clients follow. (New to it? Start with our Botox in Brighton Beach overview.)
The first 4 hours
- Stay upright for about four hours — avoid lying flat or napping.
- Keep the area still — don’t rub, massage, or press on it, so the product stays exactly where it was placed.
- Ease back into your day gently; there’s no real downtime, but a calm afternoon is ideal.
The first 24 hours
Skip anything that raises your heart rate or body heat: intense workouts, saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers. Give your skin a cool, quiet day to let everything settle.
Days 1–14
Botox works gradually. You’ll usually notice the first changes in 3–5 days, with full results around 10–14 days. Try not to judge your outcome too early — and if anything looks uneven at the two-week mark, that’s the time to check in for a quick touch-up assessment.
What to avoid
- Facials, microdermabrasion, or aggressive skincare for 24–48 hours.
- Alcohol and blood-thinning supplements right before and after — they can increase bruising.
- Fussing with the treated area unnecessarily.
Make it last
Consistency is key. Most clients maintain results with a Botox visit every 3–4 months, and regular treatment can even help soften lines over time. Botox also pairs beautifully with dermal fillers for a complete refresh. Daily SPF and a healthy skincare routine protect your investment between appointments.
