Neck Thread Lift in Brooklyn: Cost, Procedure & What to Expect

If you catch yourself tilting your chin up in photos, or pulling the skin of your neck back in the mirror, you are not alone. The neck is one of the first places that shows time: skin loosens, the jawline softens, and the line between face and neck fades. For many of my Brooklyn clients, the question is the same: is there something between doing nothing and surgery?

For mild-to-moderate sagging, a neck thread lift can be that middle path. Here is a plain-English guide to how it works, who it suits, what it costs at our Brighton Beach clinic, and what recovery really looks like.

What is a neck thread lift?

A neck thread lift uses fine, dissolvable PDO (polydioxanone) threads placed just beneath the skin to gently lift and support loose neck skin. Two things happen: the threads give an immediate mechanical lift, and as your body slowly absorbs them, it builds new collagen around them, which helps the area stay firmer over time.

There are no incisions, no general anesthesia, and no long recovery. If you would like the full background on how threads work across the face, start with our PDO thread lift guide.

Who is a good candidate?

A neck thread lift tends to suit people who:

  • Notice early-to-moderate looseness in the neck or a softening jawline
  • Want a visible lift without surgery or a long recovery
  • Prefer natural-looking, gradual results over a dramatic change
  • Would like to support collagen and skin quality at the same time

It is not the right choice for everyone. Very significant loose skin is usually better addressed with surgery, and threads are not recommended if you are pregnant or nursing, or have an active infection or skin condition in the area. That is exactly what your consultation is for: I will tell you honestly whether threads will give you the result you want, or whether another option would serve you better.

What happens during the procedure?

  1. Consultation and plan. We review your goals, your health history, and your anatomy, and decide how many threads and which areas make sense.
  2. Numbing. The area is numbed with local anesthetic, so most clients feel only mild pressure.
  3. Thread placement. Sterile, dissolvable threads are placed beneath the skin to lift and support the neck and jawline.
  4. Aftercare. You leave with clear instructions and a follow-up plan.

The visit usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes, including numbing, and you can go back to your day afterward.

What to expect: recovery and results

  • The first few days: mild swelling, soreness, tightness or a pulling sensation, and sometimes small bruises at the entry points. Most people return to normal activities quickly.
  • Right away: you will notice an immediate lift.
  • 4 to 6 weeks: results continue to improve as new collagen forms.
  • Longer term: results typically last 1 to 2 years. The threads themselves dissolve within about six months, but the collagen they stimulate keeps supporting the area.

Safety and side effects

Thread lifts are performed with sterile technique, but every procedure has considerations. Common, expected effects are temporary swelling, soreness and minor bruising. Rarer ones include slight dimpling or puckering (which usually resolves), visible thread ends (which can be adjusted) and, as with any procedure, infection, which sterile technique minimizes. Choosing an experienced, doctorate-prepared provider and following your aftercare instructions are the best ways to protect your result.

Neck thread lift vs. other options

A thread lift is best for mild-to-moderate looseness, and its results are subtler than surgery. If your concern is more about skin texture, treatments like microneedling can complement threads by supporting collagen. If you are also thinking about your jawline or lower face, dermal filler can add contour where it is needed. And if you are weighing threads against a facelift, our guide to PDO thread lifts in Brooklyn explains the difference in detail.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a neck thread lift last?

Results typically last 1 to 2 years. The threads dissolve in about six months, but the collagen they stimulate continues to support the lift.

Does a neck thread lift hurt?

The area is numbed with local anesthetic. Most clients feel only mild pressure during the procedure, and some soreness afterward.

How much downtime is there?

Downtime is minimal. Expect mild swelling, soreness or bruising for a few days, and most clients return to normal activities quickly.

Is a neck thread lift the same as a neck lift surgery?

No. It is a non-surgical option for mild-to-moderate looseness, with no incisions, no general anesthesia and no long recovery. Results are subtler than surgery, and significant laxity is better suited to a surgical approach.

How much does a neck thread lift cost?

Lifting threads are $185 each, and a full-area neck thread lift starts at $1,100. Your exact plan is confirmed at your complimentary consultation.
